Investing 101 … with a dinosaur

When did investing become a thing for the linguistically complicated?

Investing doesn’t have to be that complicated. I believe most have the ability to understand the concepts, they’re just intimidated by the terms and “cool” abbreviations being thrown around.

“I invested in Lime’s seed with 20% carry as lead for AL syndicates but there were enumeration clauses that really messed with my pies.”

(a few of those aren’t real… can you guess which?)

Since I work at the leading equity crowdfunding platform, I had a real opportunity to reach investors and educate them. Education is one of our key tenants.

So, I created Dino, a first time entrepreneur on his journey to raise funding for his telescope startup, Astro. Because why can’t investing be fun and casual? Ditch the dictionary, let’s do this pictionary-style.

I also want to use this as an opportunity to educate our investors at Wefunder about how to be a good investor and how to spot a good founder. Weekly dino comics in the making. Stay tuned.
